As part of our commitment to community empowerment and improved wellbeing, yesterday marked another significant milestone for the as we successfully concluded our 2025 outreach programme with the enrollment of 100 beneficiaries into the health insurance scheme.
In today’s reality, access to quality healthcare remains a major challenge for many families, especially due to the high cost of medical treatment and the burden of paying fully out-of-pocket for healthcare services. As someone actively involved in the healthcare sector, I understand firsthand how financial constraints often delay people from seeking timely medical attention, even in situations that require urgent care.
This is where health insurance becomes a lifesaving intervention.
Through the ASHIA health insurance scheme, beneficiaries now have access to affordable and reliable healthcare coverage for many common health conditions within our communities. With this initiative, these 100 beneficiaries can confidently seek medical care without the constant fear of overwhelming medical bills or delays caused by lack of funds.
Under this arrangement, beneficiaries will only be responsible for 10% of their healthcare costs, while the takes responsibility for their enrollment and continued validity within the scheme.
This initiative represents a dynamic and sustainable approach to empowerment — one that prioritizes health, dignity, and access to care.
